VdCloud Tec Lab aims to cover both research and teaching wise the needs of the Department in the scientific fields of video coding and transmission, cloud computing and parallel computing. Its main research activity focuses on the implementation of video coding and/or transmission systems both on software and hardware level, as well as parallel processing and development of corresponding applications in the cloud. Moreover the Lab focuses also on research in the field of Cloud computing optimization, both on software and system level.
Academic wise, VdCloud Tec Lab has the mission to cover the undergraduate and postgraduate courses of the Department that are relative to video coding, cloud computing and parallel processing.
By contributing to the creation and dissemination of knowledge in research and teaching subjects related to video and cloud computing technology, the Laboratory will undertake the organization of summer schools, seminars, conferences, workshops and lectures, as well as publications and publications.
